B DAY – MONDAY, MARCH 8, 2010
Book Fair: This week is our class coin challenge! Please remember to bring nickels tomorrow, dimes on Wednesday, Quarters on Thursday & dollar bills on Friday. The class that brings the most will win popcorn and a movie in the media center on Friday, March 19th. Good Luck to all the elementary classes!
Elementary Parent Organization meeting is cancelled for tonight! Reminder to all students of the Illinois College Exposition tonight from 6:30pm-8:00 at Illinois College. This is a college fair with dozens of in-state and out-of-state colleges. Learn about admissions programs, and financial aid. Pre K screenings are scheduled for Mon, March 29th and Tues, March 20th. Please call Diane Vose at 833-2352 to schedule an appt. Child must be 30 months of age by Mar 29th, but not 5 years old by Sept 1, 2010. This is open to all children in the G-P School District. Tina Veile will be here tomorrow about 1pm until 1:45. Book Fair is now going on thru March 16th! Hours will be from 8:30 until 3:30 on Monday, Weds, Friday and Tuesday & Thursday will be 8:30 to 4:30. Teachers can send their students at their convenience. Seniors-JWCC on Friday, March 26th will be sponsoring the ultimate "Senior Day" on campus. It will provide seniors a chance to experience a "day in the life" of a JWCC student. This will be one of your college day if you attend. For additional information check with Mr.D.
Sophomores: To be able to go to the Career Fair tomorrow. You need to be eligible and have paid the school activity fee by the end of the day today or see Mrs. Scranton.
Seniors going on senior trip need to get your permission slips and a copy of your driver’s license into Mr. Taylor or Mrs. Scranton ASAP.

Baseball practice will be outside today! Congratulations to the 5th grade Eagles who placed 2nd in the Dosh Tournament!
Congratulations to Jack P who placed 3rd in the Youth Wrestling Sectional Tournament over the weekend! He will now compete in the State Tournament in Danville the weekend of March 19th. Way to Go Jack! Pike Press will be here on Wednesday, March 10th at 3:30 to take Baseball & Softball pictures. HS Boys and Girls Basketball Sports Banquet will be Monday March 15. The dinner will be Potluck.

Eagle Notes: The Eagles fifth grade team played in a tournament at Meredosia over the weekend and came home with a second place trophy. They defeated Triopia 37-8, Southeastern 47-22 and lost to Meredosia 24-18. The sixth grade team plays at Bluffs tonight against Meredosia. Game time is at 7:00; players need to be there at 6:15. Special Board meeting tonight at 7 p.m.
Cheerleaders – Need 3-ring binders and cheer DVDs from the following: Missy and Hannah.
6th Grade Basketball Tournament at Bluffs – Monday, March 8th versus Meredosia at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, March 9th versus Triopia at 8 p.m.; Wednesday, March 10th versus Bluffs at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 9, 2:45 p.m., Big Gym, Perry (all-school assembly to announce and read the top five American Legion Essays and invitations will be given out to everyone with details on dinner menu, prices, etc.)
WEEKLY FYI:8th Grade Volleyball Regional, Tuesday, March 9th at 6:15 p.m. at Jacksonville Our Saviour versus Triopia. Bus will leave Perry at 4:15 p.m.
JH Cheerleading tryouts will be March 20th. Clinic will be March 13th and a practice will be March 16th. Mock Tryouts will be March 19th. If there are any questions, see Mrs. Bingham. Reminder: You must have passing grades to tryout.
