1.What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I enjoy being able to make a difference in the life of a student. I want each of them to see the potential in themselves that we see in them as teachers. By developing positive relationships with these students, I feel like I am able to pay forward all the wonderful adult mentors I had the fortune of having when I was their age.

2.Where did you recieve your formal eductaion?

Bachelors in Home Ec.- Western Illinois University Bachelors in Education- Eastern Illinois University Masters- American College of Education

3.How long have you been teaching?

Five years as a FACS teacher and I've also had previous experience as a special education aide.

4. Out of all of the classes that you teach at GPHS, do you have a favorite class to teach? Why?

I don't have a favorite because each class is unique but I am very impressed with the student's work and response to the new graphic design classes. We have some very talented students at GPHS!

5. As the cheerleading sponsor, you spend alot of time with the girls on the squad, do you enjoy spending time and working with all the girls? What's your favorite part about it?

I absolutely Love cheerleading. The girls are all wonderful and are working hard to make G-P fans proud. They are very respectful and full of energy. My favorite part is watching their excitement when they know they have mastered something.

6. It's still early, but how would you describe your experience at GPHS so far?

AWESOME!!! I am thrilled to be a part of the G-P family. Great Students, top-notch teachers, knowledgeable and dedicated administration and supportive parents! Love it!

4. As the music teacher you get to teach band and chorus, do you have a favorite of the two? Why?

I come from a band background. I've been involved in many more band programs than choir. I thought I would prefer band over choir, but after getting into it. I really do not have a preference!

5. Do you like having the opportunity in working with both the school students and elementary students? Do you have to change you style of teaching when going from teenagers to the younger elementary students?

I love working with such a wide range of students. Elementary kids are so curious, middle school kids are fun and high school kids have so much to look foward to. As for teaching styles, they differ emensly for each age group.

6. It's still early, but how would you describe your experience at GPHS so far?

Wonderful, the students are great and the staff is very helpful!
